Notched
the first HS404 -
Centerpunched and then drilled holes at
the edges of the notches. I used the drill press
to drill the holes.

Notched
the first HS404 - Rough
cut the notches with the band saw. It his kind
of hard to see in this picture, but I accidentally
pushed it into the band saw blade on the left
side after I cut the notch out. The blade went
into the rib about 1/16th of an inch. The next
one I build will be perfect! On the next one
I will use the snips to cut out the notches
instead of the band saw.

Notched
the first HS404 - Cleand
up the edges with the coarse and fine needle
files. I wanted to leave the line on the
left side, but the drill bit walked over
a little when I drilled it, so I went ahead
and took the line. Not an issue. One thing
I have learned is to crank up the spring
pressure a little more on my counter sink
to get a little deeper indention so the drill
bit does not walk. Use care not to deform
the aluminum too much though.

Notched
the first HS404 - Finished
the first one and edge prepped about half
of it. I also machine countersunk the holes
in HS710 and HS714 along with dimpling
the holes in the HS702s that are required
by the plans.
