More
work on HS411PP Assembly
- I did like the plans said and removed the
HS411 bracket from the rear spar assembly, deburred
the parts, primed, and then riveted them
together. When riveting them together I made the mistake
of not
clecoing
the
HS411 bracket down to something when squeezing the
rivets. This made one of the brackets slip slightly
higher on one side than the other, so I drilled out
the rivets
and did it over again. Drilling the heads was easy,
getting them out was not so easy.

More
work on HS411PP Assembly - This
is a picture after the rivets were removed. I clecoed the
HS411 back down to the spar reinforcement bars, and set
as many rivets as I could while it was clecoed down to
the spar reinforcment bars. It came out good the second
time around. As you can see I primed only one of the HS411
brackets due to the drill removing some of the factory
applied coating when I drilled the brackets. I used NAPA
self etching primer in a can. I also primed VA146. I am
waiting to enlarge the HS411 attachement holes to HS609PP
until I hear back from Van's on whether or not I need to
replace the gouged HS609PP.
