More work on the left horizontal stabilizer - I used a machinists rule I cut in half to line up the upper and lower flanges of HS404 and HS405 so I could mark the HS405 forward flange for drilling.

More work on the left horizontal stabilizer - This is the forward flange marked and center punched for drilling. Again, make sure you have enough spring dialed in (if your punch is adjustable) to make a good punch, otherwise the drill bit will walk. Start the bit out slow also...this helps. Just don't over do it with the punch or it will deform the flange too much.

More work on the left horizontal stabilizer - I clamped a wooden block on my drill press table and clamped the flange on the block for drilling. I figured this would be much easier than the drill press. I just drilled it right into the block.

More work on the left horizontal stabilizer - I then marked the upper and lower flanges of HS405 with a sharpie to line up the rib with the holes in the HS601PP skin. The upper and lower flanges of HS405 did not come with holes.

More work on the left horizontal stabilizer - Here is a picture of the setup I used to mark the flanges. The ruler forms nicely to the shape of the rib and makes it easy to mark the flange. This is HS404 being marked.

More work on the left horizontal stabilizer - I drilled the holes in the upper and lower flanges of HS405 using the HS601PP skin as a drill guide. I then drilled the HS702 forward spar using HS601PP as a drill guide. At that point HS710 and HS714 were clecoed on to the HS702 spar.

More work on the left horizontal stabilizer - Here is a picture of yours truly drilling HS710 and HS714 to HS404, HS405, and HS702. There is no picture shown, but following this I drilled the holes in the HS skeleton using the HS601PP skin as a drill guide. I was tired, so I saved the other side for tomorrow.
