Riveting the HS Rear Spar - Per the plans
I put tape over the holes which are not supposed to
receive rivets at this time and I riveted the HS609PP
spar bars to the HS603PP spar channels. I used my pneumatic
squeezer and my longeron yoke to get the job done.
I still need to put rivets in the 4 holes closest to
VA146.

Riveting the HS Rear Spar - Clecoed
on the HS412 brackets for a test fit, and
I realized I had not drilled the AN3 bolt
holes to size. This was not in the plans,
but it is easier to do it on the drill press
than when they are attached to the spar.
I drilled the HS412 and HS413 AN3 bolt holes
to #12.

Riveting the HS Rear Spar - I
don't like rust, so I shot a light coat of
tempo zinc chromate on the brackets. I just
roughed the powder coat a little with scotch
brite. This might have been a mistake when
it goes to final paint...we shall see :-).

Started
Riveting the HS Rear Spar - I
got both sets of the HS412 brackets on and
when I started riveting on the HS413 brackets
I realized I had the spar upside down so I
had 4 rivets set in the first two brackets,
but on the wrong side. I drilled them out and
moved them over to the other side. You get
tired and you make mistakes...quitting time.
