Received the confirmation letter from the FAA that my "N" number was reserved (N719DZ). This was actually a fairly easy process. Go to the FAA website and check to see if the "N" number you want is available. Once you find an "N" number that is available, go here to register the number. It is $10 per year to register your "N" number, and if it is not assigned to a serial number before the year is up it will expire. You can renew your reservation for another year before it expires.

Ordered the Sealer for the Concrete in the Basement - My Dad used this sealer to do the floor in his hangar and it worked well for him. The concrete looks the same after the sealer is applied as it did before application. It is also much safer to apply than an epoxy based sealer from a fume standpoint. Endur-O-Seal USA is the company I bought it from and I am using the Hydra Loc. This should really reduce or almost eliminate vapor transmission through the concrete so the basement will stay dry. It is already very dry, but I will seal it, add a dehumidifier, and a fan to circulate some air so I won't need to worry about aluminum corrosion issues. It will also keep the concrete dust to a minimum.

Applied Concrete Sealer - Finshed applying sealer to the portion of the basement you see in the 9/29/04 pictures. It took me about three hours total time to get three coats of sealer on. It is pretty easy because you spray the stuff on with one of those pressurized garden sprayers ($24 at Lowes). I still need to do the rest of the basement, but I can do that in parallel with building my workbenches and the other prep work I need to do. I still need to build a sound enclosure for my compressor, and run a PVC air line into the basement with two or three outlets.

Placed the order for my empennage kit - I went ahead and ordered the electric elevator trim kit too. It was a $240 add on. I can't wait for it to get here!!!!! I need to get on the ball and get my workbenches built.
