My DRDT-2 Dimpler Arrived - This is my DRDT-2 dimpler from ExperimentalAero. I bought this instead of getting a C-frame dimpler with my Avery tool kit. Avery let me substitute other tools of equal value with my kit and still gave me the 10% discount on the substitutions. I mounted it on this old dining room table I got from my folks back in 1987...I knew I was keeping it around for a reason. It is fairly heavy and should make a good base for the dimpler. I am going to stiffen up the legs by putting another shelf underneath the table about half way down the legs. It will make a good place to store aluminum skins.

My DRDT-2 Dimpler Arrived - As you can see from this picture the table is pretty long and will make a great dimpling table. I am going to build another table top to go around the dimpler that will be flush with the bottom piece of tube steel. I will cover it with carpet to support and protect the skins while I am dimpling. I'll post pictures when I get it done. This thing weighs about 60lbs. (without the table), it is heavy duty!

My DRDT-2 Dimpler Arrived - This is a picture of a dimpled piece of aluminum that came between the dimple dies in my Vise Grip dimpling pliers from Avery. I gives you a good idea of what a dimple looks like. This is the side of the dimple that gets the shop head of the rivet. The DRDT-2 is designed to do this and only this.

My DRDT-2 Dimpler Arrived - This is the other side of the dimple where the manufactured head will go. With a good dimple you can drop a flush head rivet in this side and it will look like a flat piece of metal. The idea is to have the manufactured head be absolutely flush so it is hard to tell there is a rivet there.

My DRDT-2 Dimpler Arrived - This is a view of the shop head side of a rivet sticking through the dimple. This side would get the bucking bar if you were setting the rivet with the rivet gun.

My DRDT-2 Dimpler Arrived - This is the manufactured head of the rivet in the dimple. As you can see it is pretty much flush. You would hit this side with the flush swivel rivet set in the rivet gun if you were setting it with the gun.
